The "Jew"

I'm in my 40's and I still don't know what the deal is with "the Jews."

Honestly, I NEVER heard anyone ever make any derogatory remarks about Jewish people when I was growing up. I don't think it was until I was in my late 20's when I first meet someone who I knew for a fact was Jewish.

She was a co-worker and the only reason I knew she was Jewish is because she took off Jewish holidays; not because she was a stereotype. She didn't walk around introducing herself as Jewish. I didn't walk around telling people I was Baptist. For that fact, none of my co-worker, neighbors or friends walked around introducing themselves as black, lesbian, Mexican or even catholic. Although, I must say, it was much easier identifying my black and Mexican friends. It's not because of where I grow up either. My dad was in the Air Force and we moved around a lot and lived off and on base. I guess it was who I chose to keep company with.

I've listened to Michael Medved, Dennis Prager and others and I understand why other people feel they way they do, but I don't understand it or, maybe, I can't "wrap my brain around it."

I travel to New York and Southern California on business (where I've been told "Jews hang out") and I'm sure I'm around a lot of Jewish people, I just don't see it. For that fact, I don't see blacks or Catholics either. Come to think of it the only time I see race or sex or sexual orientation is when someone is crying about how they are a victim because of it.

Why can't I see the Jew thing? Why this intense hatred? Is it so ingrained in people how to hate the Jewish people by how they are raised?

I know ... the Jews have started every major war, they control the world banks, they are plotting to take over the world, they control the media. Just because someone says it (over and over again) doesn't make it true or even make it make sense.

I think it is because these people are just plain crazy.
